Good spinal health improves your quality of life in more ways than you can imagine, from eliminating chronic pain, relieving asthma, stimulating digestion, to improving cognitive performance, fitness capacity, memory, and emotional equilibrium. Chiropractic is about improving nerve function so that brain and body work together more effectively. Our formally trained and qualified Sydney Chiropractors use safe, effective and very specific adjustments to restore spinal movement and therefore aiding the nervous system.

Chiropractic examines the function of the spine and especially the ability of the brain to connect with all areas of the body.  When correct movement of the spine is lost the body’s ability to function normally is decreased.

Chiropractic looks to restore segment spinal movement and improve the body’s ability to adapt to stress, what ever form it may present.  Posture, diet, general self awareness and daily habits are key areas that have been shown to affect the amount of stress placed on your spine. We aim to promote proactive lifestyle changes that reduce spinal stressors.

Wynyard Chiropractic Principal John de Voy was introduced to chiropractic care at the age of seven when he sustained multiple spinal injuries from a nasty accident.  Hospitalised for his injuries for many months, John’s rehabilitation was slow and release from hospital still unable to walk.  His parents were told he would improve with time and  offered no other solution, they sought out the help of a chiropractor.  Through chiropractic care and determination, John regained the use of his legs and began his recovery.  His own personal experience as a child has been a driving force for him to help others especially children.

At this point in time, high level research into chiropractic care for children is not available.  As you can imagine the difficulties in conducting high level research on children presents huge ethical problems, so we rely on solid medical paediatric knowledge of the child’s body and spine along with their specific health issues at every age. This knowledge is utilised to dramatically modified the care given to children to ensure safety in chiropractic care. “Children are not small adults”, their bodies are still developing and therefore require thorough examination and knowledge of the child’s body and spine so that their particular issue can be addressed.

John continues to study in the area of Paediatrics and recently completing a degree in Chiropractic Paediatrics.

He started practice in Gunnedah NSW and now after 32 years of practice loves going to work each day to help people live better lives in what ever way he can!

John’s his qualifications include a Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.), Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) and a Diplomate in Clinical Chiropractic Paediatrics (DICCP).
